ABOUT US
Wegen Le Wegen (WLW) , NY Tri-state is a non-profit organization that focuses in mobilizing resources and engaging the diaspora in the New York Tristate area to address the needs of Ethiopians in Ethiopia.
OUR CAUSES
WLW is focused on mobilizing resources and engaging the diaspora in the NY Tri-state area to address the needs listed below:
- Help in management of and recovery from natural disaster
- Provide humanitarian assistance during and after crises
Increase educational and economic opportunities to poor families in Ethiopia
Provide financial and in-kind aid to civic and humanitarian organizations involved in the social and economic development of Ethiopia
- Create a system for knowledge transfer and develop tools for business initiatives to raise funds within Ethiopia to ensure sustainability of assistance
- Advocate for causes that promote the equality and human rights of all Ethiopians
- Provide assistance when called for to protect the most vulnerable from systematic harm
HOW WE DO OUR WORK
WLW will engage in tasks such as the items listed below for the projects undertaken
- Raise public awareness
- Develop targeted communication materials and outreach activities solely for mobilization of resources
- Disseminate communication materials and undertake fund-raising activities
- Conduct fund raising campaigns as needed to provide charitable assistance or immediate aid during crisis
- Provide material assistance and engage in transfer of knowledge to empower Ethiopia
- Develop and strengthen relationship with other organizations to assist our cause
